IF YOU LOVE AN ELEGANT WEDDING WITH LOTS OF CHARM AND SPARKLE THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS DELAPRE ABBEY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY!

Getting ready

Danielle got ready at home in Kettering with all her Bridesmaids, and there was such an exciting vibe. She wore an incredible Justin Alexander wedding dress and looked so stunning. She then hopped into her fancy wedding car to get to the ceremony in Northampton.

Delapre Abbey Wedding Ideas – Wedding Theme

Danielle and Steve clearly did a marvellous job styling Delapre Abbey. utilising the gilded frames and the historical architecture of the wedding venue

An elegant day to suit the character of the venue, Delapré Abbey, along with lots of charm and sparkle to represent the bride and groom. Hints of a regal sapphire shining throughout representing the beautiful engagement ring, the starting point of their wedding celebrations.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the recently restored Victorian Bouverie room. I loved the light in this room, lit from the large windows down the side of the room. It made for some spectacular photos of the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the couple mingled with their guests, which was so much fun. Then The newlyweds went for a little drive, which was really lovely. We got some wonderful guest photos, with guests enjoying the sun. The weather stayed so sunny all day.

For the reception, the couple recommended guests try their favourite drink: an espresso martini. Which I did, Delicious! Thanks for that one guys 🙂

The Evening

After the cake cutting, they took to the dance floor for their amazing first dance, under the chandelier.

So looking forward to our next Wedding at Delapre, which isn’t long.

Delapre Abbey is a beautiful place for wedding photography. We have so many ideas we can’t wait for our next wedding there.

Inside Delapre Abbey

The renovation of Delapre Abey into what is now a glorious period wedding venue is excellent. There is so much opportunity to create stunning wedding photography inside the building, using the elegantly decorated rooms, Wood clad hallways, a grand staircase and even the below in the servant’s areas. Upstairs there are 2 bridal suites that have been carefully decorated along with the rest of the Abbey. These are a great opportunity for brides and their wedding parties to get ready at Delapre Abbey.

Bouverie Room – Wedding Ceremony

The light and shadows in this room are spectacular. Down one side of the room are large windows which pour lots of light in from one direction. I loved the results we got from carefully balancing the light to add contrast and depth to the wedding ceremony photos. The chandelier also looks stunning in the background of many of the shots. This room also where a dance floor is laid and the first dance takes place. Setting up our own lighting we loved the results.

Gardens and surrounding Grounds

Just behind Delapre Abbey, you have Victorian walled gardens which offer lots of opportunity for flowery, garden, wedding photography. Surrounding Delapre Abbey is the grounds, which have lots of well-established trees and even a lake. The area surrounding Delapre Abbey has little hints as to what they once were used for, landscape gardens, formal gardens and an orchard all long forgotten. We often use the grounds for engagement photography as the variety at hand is perfect as an outdoor location.

I loved this Delapre wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a Delapre wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!
