So this is us, the Sky Photography team!
Hi! We’re Simon and Karla, a pair of relaxed wedding photographers in the wonderful (yes!) town of Northampton. However, we shoot weddings all over the world.
We live in an Edwardian house in Abington, Northampton, with our three growing boys. Thankfully, the park is five minutes away.
Our favourite things in the world are travelling, eating good food and even gardening, although we are not too good at it yet. When we’re not shooting weddings, you’ll find us watching the latest box set on Netflix or out somewhere with our boys.
I couldn’t live without good food, Craft Beers (Dank hoppy IPAs 8%+ !) and travelling. We spend a lot of time with our kids and nothing makes us happier than road tripping the world with our 3 boys in the back. Are we there yet?
Karla and I have been together since 2006 and we have 3 lovely boys, whose favourite food is SUSHI!. We met whilst I was travelling in Peru, South America. A lot of MSN Messenger-ing (remember that, prob not?) later and I was back out there wondering what I’d discovered in Latin America. Sure enough, it was Love, 6000 miles from home! Karla soon moved to the UK and we’ve been married for over 10 years now. We shared a passion for photography, which quickly grew into a fulltime passion/job!
Before Wedding photography, Simon was an IT Engineer (techie geeeeek) and Karla worked in retail.
Our love of people and people watching is what got us both into wedding photography. We’ve been a wedding photographers since 2010 and we’re having so much fun. The best thing about being a wedding photographer is that I get to meet loads of new people and get to create awesome photos that people treasure.
Our couples are typically super relaxed, and the last thing they want is a photographer who is super cheesy and takes over their wedding day. We’re super conscious of this.
Our wedding photography style is relaxed and creative. We tell a story, capture emotions and find moments, but we also like to create beautiful portraits too. Nothing too staged and certainly not awkward, just something epic for your living room wall! So we’ll capture all the funny and silly moments and let you get on with having a wicked day. For us, the best bit about a wedding day is the getting ready part because there is so much emotion and tension.
Your wedding is all about having a great party. You don’t care about worrying about the little things that don’t matter or some fancy limos – you just want to have a hell of a party with your favourite people.
