Barton Hall Wedding Photography: Sky Photography

The Venue: Barton Hall

We loved shooting this Barton Hall Wedding, such a fun day!
We have been fortunate enough to cover several weddings at Barton Hall recently and each one of these weddings has been so special. We have et so many lovely people and some wonderful Bride and Grooms. We’ve really loved shooting these winter weddings at Barton Hall as there’s so much scope to create some beautiful night photos. What makes Barton Hall stand out is the stunning orangery. This is such a beautiful building to get married in, with its gorgeous round skylights it makes for amazing wedding photography. I really wanted to use the orangery to create a night photo that was different and beautiful and toyed with a few ideas throughout the day. We ended up using several different lights and a bit of light painting over 8secs to create our main silhouette image (I’m actually crouching behind the couple!)
Other features of Barton Hall we like so much is the Vines restaurant and bar where guests can mingle and the wedding reception is held in a lovely chandelier hung room. Special mention to lovely Alan Hodge Toastmaster he’s such a professional. Lovely bloke if you get a chance to stop and chat with him. He really ensures the wedding runs smoothly and is a great addition to any wedding at Barton Hall. The staff at Barton Hall are really caring and have delivered on each of the weddings we have been in attendance recently.
We love shooting weddings at Barton Hall, it’s a superb wedding venue.

The Couple: Hannah and Phil

We met Hannah and Phil back on a hot sunny day in July 2018. I loved their home which was being renovated, well, still being built really. I admired their drive, vision and capacity to take on the task of a wedding and complete a house renovation all at the same time. They were interested in having us capture their day because they loved the idea of having 2 wedding photographers capture the morning stories. I captured Phil’s preps and Karla captured Hannah’s fun bridal preparations. Our camera’s a are time synced so you can see their stories as they happened, flicking between each story. I think this worked really well as we caught some great photos of both preparations with both Bride and Groom parties messing about and having fun, which makes great; natural photography.
Hanna and Phil make a lovely couple, they work so well together. I love Phil’s laid back approach to life (a bit like me). Hannah’s so alert, quick thinking and attentive. Both were wonderful on the day and trusted us completely with our ideas, which we really appreciated. It takes trust to say ‘Yes’, to come out in the cold, dark (a little creepy) to sneak off for 5 minutes to create a night photo in an empty torch lit orangery. Still, I hope you think it was worth it 🙂
Thank you so much, Hannah and Phil, hope you enjoy your photography.
