DIY Wedding Northamptonshire | Adie and Mike

DIY Wedding Northamptonshire

Wow, how fantastic, getting married in the grounds of your family home. The very home and grounds you grew up in as a child. Well that is what Adie pulled off with her amazing DIY wedding in Northamptonshire. Marrying her sweetheart Australian finance, surrounded by all their friends and family.

Adie and Mike had a huge open plan Marquee set up in the grounds, wonderfully decorated with hanging industrial style lights and lots of flowers. They had kegs of locally produced ales set up for the guests along with cocktail making ingredients. Cheesecake as well a traditional wedding cake. Adie got ready in her parents house whilst Mike got ready at a beautiful farm retreat just outside the village. Mike’s preparations were so relaxed and casual. This meant I was able to take time capturing everything else that was going on around the retreat too. Adie had a busy houseful of bridesmaids family and friends. Alot going on. Karla captured this, whilst helping out where needed.

The special thing about this wedding was the atmosphere! That’s the thing we love about DIY weddings is that they are usually more relaxed and certainly less formal. We’re always excited about capturing the emotions from a wedding like this because simply there is usually more emotions on show! More friends are often invited too, which usually means more partying later on. This wedding was one such wedding and we it was difficult to leave by the end of the night as we too felt part of the celebrations. I love that when that happens, meeting and getting to know so much of the family and friends as the day evolves.
